I have inadvertently trained my dog to ignore my voice and only listen to the beeper on the collar. He responded so well to the beep and I didn’t have to yell ‘here’. But now I’ve realized I need him to obey my voice in instances where I don’t use a collar (trials, yard, etc.). How can I do this when my dog has been taught to ‘whoa’ on collar stimulation?
Tell the dog here and if he does not respond bump him with the e-collar. If he stops walk to him. stand about twenty yards behind him and say here if he does not move bump him with the collar. A lot of times when you get behind the dog it will help him get his feet started. I would take him to the yard first and then move my way back to the feild. If he already comes on the tone, then there is a cue in place and it should be easy to reverse.
